Martha or the Canadians?

let me first say that i love canada. they seem to be much nicer people than americans and i love degrassi-in all it's forms.

that being said, this is a poll question from the canadian website "globeandmail.com".

Is it okay with you if convicted criminal Martha Stewart comes to Canada to row a giant pumpkin?

in my mind martha is less a convicted criminal than a greedy bastard. but clearly now she is an insane greedy bastard. what in the world does it mean to "row a giant pumpkin"? is she going to hollow it out and sit in it and row? is she going to be somehow attached to a whole pumpkin and row it that way? is it even a real pumpkin? FREAK

but the bigger question is why would anyone in canada give a rat's ass if she did or didn't? i can think of no way this could possibly affect anyone else besides her unless there is some kind of rowing a giant pumpkin event that she is entering and might possibly win. if that is true, why have we never heard of such a thing? the creeping unknown
recently wrote about her love of pumpkins and made no mention of this.

i realize that i need to add another freak to the picture. if this is not really happening, that means that the person in charge of coming up with polls for the globe and mail site pulled this question out of their ass. how could you ever come up with something so stupid? unless.....nope can't think of one good reason. sorry just a bunch of freaks

i forgot about my recommendation resolution so i had to come back and edit this post to include one. at bj's buy the berkley and jenson sandwich rolls. they are the best.

i am back

this was a very interesting summer. lot's of freaks and very little time to post about them. i think i am catching up with my parental skill set so i will have more time to critique others. and that is what i live for.

i would like to thank the creeping unknown for some excellent "people are freaks" standin posts.

probably everyone who reads this, all 3 of you, will have heard this freak story but it is a good one.

we went to the local big summer fair back in july. we did all your regular fair things and got ripped off in all the regular fair ways. then when we were at our last ride it happened. the matted hair, missing tooth, inbred looking carny apparently thinks it is ok to have your 21/2 year old spend the day and most of the night riding your ride. we were up next and the little girl came over to her mom doing the peepee dance. the woman turned to me, a perfect stranger, and said "would you take her to the bathroom?" well, since i didn't know where the bathrooms were i told her that and she gave me directions and asked again if i would take her. i felt sorry for the little girl for so many reasons, the least of which was her bathroom dilema, so i agreed. this is when the woman won the freak of the summer award. she looked at me very sternly and said "now make sure that you keep her with you". what? oh, yeah. instead of all the other strangers at the fair who weren't selected to take her kid to the bathroom. FREAK

and now for my own personal freakness. i did it. and the whole time i was convinced that this was some kind of sting and the police were going to stop me and arrest me for stealing this little girl.

so that takes care of the summer.

the boys are in school. and have been for 10 days, so they have today and tomorrow off. and next monday. and then another day in the next week for yom kippor. i kick myself twice a day lately for not finishing my teaching degree. what a racket.

alex did get 1/2 day(21/2hrs). he is in a class with 20 kids, 10 reg. + 10 sped. with 2 teachers. nick got full day. he is in a class with 9 kids and 3 teachers. just for yucks, what if they did it backwards. take the kids who are really not ready for kindergarten and put them in a class with 9 kids and 3 teachers and full day. then see how many of them fail and have to repeat the year. i am willing to put money on the fact that there would be less failing and more learning. but who am i?

totally unrelated to anything, does anyone think that you can absorb the smell of a building if the building only smells that way in abstract? most of the time i work overnights in a building that is connected to a building that houses people who are really sick and waiting to die. i have noticed over time that when i get people up in the morning they smell like they are rotting. and then when i get in my car, i smell like i am rotting. i thought this had to do with being awake all night and people being generally disgusting. some of them don't smell so great when they get there, so i thought it would stand to reason that they would smell even worse 12 hours later.

but this past weekend, i worked in a different hospital where people are not dying and everyone smelled fine in the morning. so i now think it is the building. i guess i should be glad that it isn't haunted by the spirits of people who haven't passed over---oh, wait that is bailey's gf's new show. sorry.

i have decided that at the end of each post i will make some kind of recommendation. just because i can here. at home the boss doesn't like it when i tell her what to do or feel. go figure.

watch "my name is earl". if you watch no other new show, watch that one.
