too busy for freak spotting
although that darned pope is still dominating the news. is it a sign from god? hmmmmm
that said, we had our first sleepover with alex on sat. this is what i had to say to my sister
"he was surprisingly great. we picked him up at 4 and drove home via the supermarket and the park. in the car before we went into the store we learned that if you run in the store they will tell you to get out. this seemed to help and he was normally active in the store. he had the choice of walking and holding someone's hand or going in the carriage. he walked.
at the park, the kid who they described as needing constant supervision due to fearlessness scooted down high steps on his butt and wouldn't go down most of the slides. he lay on his belly on the swing but didn't want to sit in the seat alone or with someone. he didn't try to run away or act like a crazy kid. i did meet a lady who asked if we were both his moms and when i said yes, she said 'oh, then your....." i said yes we are. lol
he ate macaroni and cheese, corn, and fried catfish for dinner. the catfish was a let's see what he does, and he asked for more. but everyone says he eats better than nick.
he had a bath, and some cartoon, and then a story and bed. the story is what you would expect a 2yr. to do by way of listening. he wanted to turn the pages and we just talked about the pictures. he stayed in bed and fell asleep by 9. and didn't wake up until 8:30 this morning.
we had breakfast and played in the yard and then had some lunch and dropped him off at 1pm. that is what i call a success. now let's see what he does when he comes on wed and doesn't get to go home."
he won't go home on wed. because wed. is the day that this becomes his home. we are excited and a little anxious. we have been waiting for so long and now in the spirit of all things dss things are moving so fast we can barely keep up.
did i mention just how cute they are? i was afraid to post pictures because of confidentiality but now that they are ours i guess i can. so pictures will be coming soon.
tomorrow we go visit them both. and wed. morning at 9:30 we pick up alex for good. because we are getting them earlier than expected it didn't give us too much time to freak out. so that is good.
